HalalBasis

Halal food scanner

Scan a barcode, or photograph the ingredients list. You get one of three answers, and the reason behind it.

Every answer shows its basis

You see which ingredient caused the result and what that ingredient actually is. Where recognised certifying bodies classify something differently, the app puts both positions in front of you and leaves the choice where it belongs. It does not pick a school of thought on your behalf.

The additive handbook works offline

247 E numbers ship inside the app, so reading them needs no signal at all. That matters more than it sounds. The moment you want it is usually in a shop, holding a packet, with one bar.

35 languages

Arabic, Turkish, Urdu and Indonesian are among them. The right-to-left languages were designed in from the first screen.

Barcode scanning is free

Scan as many as you like without paying anything. Photo analysis runs on credits, and there is a one-time unlock if you would rather stop counting them. There is no weekly plan, and nothing auto-renews.

This is an ingredient information tool, not a religious ruling. For a final answer, check with your local certifying body.
